The National Storage Mechanism (NSM) allows you to access regulated announcements and disclosed documents. Find out what is stored and how to use it.
Access the National Storage Mechanism
The NSM is the FCA's official system for storing regulated information that issuers must disclose under:
- UK Listing Rules.
- Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
- Articles 17 to 19 of the Market Abuse Regulation.
- Prospectus Rules (before 21 July 2019) and the Prospectus Regulation Rules (from 21 July 2019 onwards).
Submitting information to the NSM
Information is filed into the NSM through 3 routes:
Viewing information on the National Storage Mechanism
On the NSM, users can access the regulated information and announcements submitted by listed issuers. It allows users to search all regulatory disclosures and documents using search criteria such as company name, LEI, filing date and keywords or phrases in the document content.
Users can then view, download the document or export search results to a .csv file for free.
Find help on how to search in our NSM user guide.
From 3 November 2025, the changes we're making to the NSM to align with PS24/19 include:
- Updating the list of headline codes and categories used to organise regulated information, removing some redundant categories. The ‘classification’ field will also disappear.
- Recording, for each disclosure, the name and LEI of any related issuers, in addition to those of the organisation making the disclosure. When you search a company’s name or LEI you will be able to get results for the disclosing organisation and/or related issuer.
- Clearer displaying of corrections to previously filed disclosures. Previous versions of disclosures will remain on the NSM but will be hidden from the default view.
Accessing historic information
For historic materials submitted to the old NSM (run by Morningstar from 2009 until 05 April 2020), use the URL lookup. This provides the relevant link on the new NSM.
