Register for Connect

Connect is the system for submitting applications and notifications. Find out how your firm can register on Connect.

Access to Connect

There are 2 different access levels to Connect.

  • Firm Specific Connect: Access for authorised or registered firms to create firm specific applications and notifications.
  • Standard Connect: General access for non-firm specific applications, including new authorisation applications, change in control and sensitive business name applications.

Authorised or registered firms (Firm Specific Connect)

If you are already authorised or registered by us, you will need your:

  • Firm Reference Number (FRN)
  • Individual Reference Number (IRN)

If you are a sole trader you will not have an IRN, but you can use a registration key – your key was sent to you in your firm’s authorisation letter.

If you cannot find your Registration Key, please contact us.

You also need to know who your Connect Principal User will be for your firm. A firm can only have a single Principal User and this user is the responsible person for Connect.

To register the Connect Principal User, you need to hold a Controlled Function (CF), Senior Manager Function (SMF) or a Senior Insurance Manager Function (SIMF) at the firm.

They will need to provide their Individual Reference Number and National Insurance Number or Passport number to register as the Principal User.

When registering as a Principal User on Connect, you need to make sure that the registration process is complete before you can access your firm in My FCA.
