Reference Case Number: FOI11360
Freedom of Information: Right to know request:
You asked for information relating to a recent survey conducted by the FCA into non-financial misconduct. The full text of your request is reproduced in Annex A below.
FCA response:
To clarify, the FCA has only carried out one recent survey related to incidents of non-financial misconduct at firms in the UK’s insurance market. We supervise all firms as members of a portfolio of firms, within each sector, that share a common business model. The survey was sent to firms in four portfolios across the wholesale insurance, wholesale banks and wholesale brokers sectors.
The number of firms which submitted information by their initial deadline, missed the initial deadline for a response or sought an extension from the FCA for responding to the survey, broken down by all portfolios which received the survey, is as follows:
Firm responses | Lloyd’s Managing Agents & London Market Insurers (including P&I Clubs) | Lloyd's and London Market Insurance Intermediaries | Wholesale banks | Wholesale brokers | Totals |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firms which submitted information by their deadline | 166 | 298 | 121 | 182 | 767 |
| Firms which missed their deadline | 31 | 84 | 60 | 86 | 261 |
| Firms which requested extensions | 4 | 2 | 29 | 1 | 36 |
