Information for customers of The Mortgage Matters Partnership (TMMP)

Some of TMMP’s customers were given mortgage advice which may have been unsuitable and a customer contact and redress programme was started. The firm has been declared in default by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and as a result this programme has now stopped.

The Mortgage Matters Partnership (TMMP) is a former mortgage and insurance intermediary which is authorised by the FCA but is no longer trading. Some of TMMP’s customers were given mortgage advice which may have been unsuitable and a customer contact and redress programme has been underway further to the requirement set out on TMMP’s permission on our Register. In addition, in response to customer complaints the Financial Ombudsman Service has assessed a number of Payment Protection Insurance complaints against TMMP and found in favour of the complainants.

What we are doing

We have been in discussion with TMMP and various other parties, including the FOS and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). TMMP, which is an unlimited partnership, is in consultation with an Insolvency Practitioner. It has also now voluntarily removed its permissions.

We are aware that a number of consumers are trying to resolve their complaints but have had difficulties in contacting TMMP. We have been in contact with the FSCS and they have advised customers with a complaint or claim to contact them.

On 31 January 2019 the FSCS declared TMMP in default.

What customers should do

If you're a customer and wish to make a complaint or claim against TMMP, submit a claim online to the FSCS using the FSCS claim service.

At this time claimants should not contact the Financial Ombudsman Service.

For customer queries, contact the FSCS on 0800 678 1100.
