Market abuse reporting form

If you have concerns about conduct related to market abuse, you can report it to us. We review all reports we receive about alleged market abuse.

* Fields with an asterisk beside their labels are mandatory.

Market abuse is unacceptable conduct which harms financial markets. Preventing, detecting and punishing market abuse is a high priority for us. Market abuse is defined in the UK Market Abuse Regulation (UK MAR).

Please only use this form to submit a suspicion of market abuse.

Market abuse offences

Insider dealing

  • UK MAR prohibits persons in possession of inside information from using that information to deal or attempt to deal in financial instruments (not including cryptocurrencies) or to recommend or induce another person to transact on the basis of inside information. The use of inside information to amend or cancel an existing order constitutes insider dealing.

Unlawful disclosure

  • UK MAR prohibits a person in possession of inside information from disclosing that information to any other person, except where the disclosure is made in the normal exercise of employment, a profession, or duties.

Market manipulation

  • UK MAR defines and prohibits market manipulation. This broadly covers behaviours which give, or are likely to give, false or misleading signals as to the supply of, demand for, or price of, a financial instrument or benchmark or, in some situations, spot commodity contracts.

Cryptocurrencies are not currently subject to the market abuse regime.
