Please provide:
- UK mortgage arrears broken down by the age of the mortgage borrower. Please provide the total arrears (in Pounds) for each group, plus the number and proportion of mortgage accounts that are in arrears for each age group.
- Mortgage arrears broken down by geographic location. Please provide the total arrears (in Pounds), plus the number and proportion of mortgage accounts that are in arrears in every local authority in the UK. If data is not available at this level, please supply for each region of the UK (e.g. North East, North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, South East, South West, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland)
On 15 July 2024 you clarified that your request relates to arrears where the shortfall equates to two or more regular monthly payments, which is a definition of ‘arrears’ widely used across the industry.
