Information on regulatory gateway for approval of financial promotions - September 2024

Please can you provide the following information:

1.  In relation to the new regulatory gateway for the approval of financial promotions by unauthorised firms that was open between 6 November 2023 and 6 February 2024 ("Regulatory Gateway"), please could you state:
(a)  the number of firms that submitted a variation of permission application to obtain the "Approver Permission".
(b)  the number of firms who applied for but did not receive the "Approver Permission"; and
(c)  the number of firms since 7 February 2024 who held the "Approver Permission" but have since had it cancelled.

2.  For the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, how many times did you exercise your powers under 166 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 against a principal firm over concerns regarding their supervision or oversight of its appointed representatives.

3.  In relation to enforcement cases, please could we request an updated response to the questions raised in case number FOI8524 for the years 2022 and 2023 (https://www.fca.org.uk/freedom-information/open-enforcement-investigations-numbers-and-types-cases-february-2022).
