Freedom of Information: Right to know request:
- Provide the number of firms that are authorised to provide financial planning advice to individuals as found on the Financial Services Register (*please cover these permissions: Advising on investments; Advising on P2P agreements; Advising on Pension Transfers and Pension Opt-Outs).
- Please provide the number of retail investment advisors, each calendar year from 2020 through to year end-2024.
- & 4 - Please also include, for each calendar year, 2020 – 2024, the number of newly authorised firms, and the number of firms where authorisation has been revoked.
Clarifications on the request.
- Please restrict to firms that use permissions to advise retail customers on investments.
- Please provide authorised with the permissions to advise retail customers on investments.
- Please provide only firms who are new to authorisation.
- Please provide firms who are no longer authorised for whatever reason, not just FCA's action to remove permission.
- Please provide firms who may have removed the cited permissions but remain authorised for other activities.
