Freedom of Information: Right to know request:

1. I would like figures on how much the FCA has spent on Google ad words in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021,
2. as well as information on how the FCA is working with Google and social media in general on Google ad words that are linked to CMCs ie: if a customer that has had a crash googles their insurer, some are hitting click to call links that go directly to CMCs not the insurer .

For question 2, we can confirm that when we took on regulation of Claims Management Companies (CMCs) in 2019, we ran a short paid search campaign to direct consumers looking for information on CMCs to our website. However, the FCA does not have any current paid search activity related to CMCs.
