Tell us if you change the person responsible for payment services in your payment institution, and any agents you may use to provide payment services on your behalf.
We must ensure that the people responsible for managing your payment services are of good repute and have appropriate knowledge and experience to perform payment services. The people that manage your business are called Payment Services Directive (PSD) individuals and agents.
You must tell us if there are changes to:
- the persons responsible for your payment services
- your agents
You can’t use agents for payment services until they are listed on the Register.
Changes to PSD individuals within an agent
You can now notify us of any changes to PSD individuals within an agent by submitting the 'Amend PSD agent application' form through Connect, our online notification system.
To gain your Registration Key to use Connect, call us on 0300 500 0597 - we will go through an authentication process with you first.
Changes to PSD individuals at payment institutions
To add, change or remove details of a PSD individual at a payment institution, you should complete the relevant paper form and email it to: [email protected] (you cannot submit this on Connect):

Add an agent
If you appoint an agent, you must notify us by completing an 'add a PSD agent' form on Connect, using one of these application types:
- PSD agent application (for agents in the UK)
- Passporting out application (for agents in the European Economic Area)
After you submit an agent form
We aim to process applications for UK PSD agents within 10 working days; however please note that under the PSD2, the time taken to process an application for standalone UK agents may be up to 2 months. You will receive an email when your application is approved, and the agent will appear on the Financial Services Register within 48 hours.
We aim to process applications for EEA PSD agents within 30 days; however under PSD2 the process for adding an EEA agent may take up to 3 months. You will receive an email when your application is approved, and the agent will appear on the Register at the end of this period.
You can call us on 0300 500 0597 if an agent hasn’t appeared on the Register after these times (i.e. 2 months for UK agents and 3 months for EEA agents).
Change an agent’s details
You can amend the details of an existing agent, including adding or removing individuals associated with the agent, with the amend a PSD agent form on Connect.
Remove an agent
If you’re no longer dealing with a registered agent, complete the remove a PSD agent form on Connect.

- after 10 working days for an agent in the UK
- after 30 days for an EEA agent
