Figures include all listed issuers on main market, admissions to trading only and those on the professional securities market.
The Primary Market Effectiveness (PME) review implemented in July 2024 included a reform of the UK Listing Rules, resulting in the removal of the Premium vs Standard distinction for equity shares in commercial companies. Consequently, we have now updated the methodology for this metric to reflect the new structure of the market.
Last year we used UK Official List data, including only issuers in the premium equity commercial companies, standard shares, and standard Global Depositary Receipts (GDR) categories. For clarity, we excluded debt and debt-like issuers, warrants, options and other miscellaneous securities as well as securitised derivatives.
This year we included all equity related listings on the UK Official List comprising of the following categories:
- certificates representing certain securities (depository receipts)
- closed-ended investment funds; equity shares (commercial companies)
- equity shares (international commercial companies secondary listing)
- equity shares (shell companies)
- equity shares (transition)
- non-equity shares and non-voting equity shares
- open-ended investment companies
We excluded debt and debt-like issuers, warrants, options and other miscellaneous securities as well as securitised derivatives.
