Temporary ban on net short positions by FSMA

The FCA would like to draw the industry’s attention to the announcement by the FINANCIAL SERVICES AND MARKETS AUTHORITY (FSMA) which restricts transactions under Article 20 of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012.

The measure applies to shares listed on Euronext Brussels and Euronext Growth where the FSMA is the national competent authority for the most relevant market. The ban applies to index-related instruments only if the restricted shares represent more than 20% of the index weight.

This measure is effective immediately until the end of trading on the 17 April 2020.

Temporary ban on net short positions by HCMC

The FCA would like to draw the industry’s attention to the announcement by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) which restricts transactions under Article 20 of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012.

This applies to shares admitted to trading on the Athens Stock Exchange for which HCMC is the competent authority, as well as to all related instruments relevant for the calculation of the net short position determined in Annex I, part 1, articles 5 and 6 of Commission Delegated Regulation EU Nº 918/2012.

This measure is effective immediately until midnight on 24 April 2020.
