Information requested in relation to civil and criminal investigations carried out by the FCA. Please see Annex A for full details of the information requested.

We can confirm that we hold the requested information, which is set out below. Before we respond, we would like to explain that we categorise each operation as criminal, civil or regulatory based on the nature of the breaches or offences. When we open an operation, we do not prejudge the outcome. If we are investigating a potential breach that might lead to either criminal, civil or regulatory action, we open those cases on a dual-track basis. For the purpose of this request, we have also included figures for our dual track operations.
The information provided below is based on cases first opened between 4 March 2023 to 28 February 2026, this is because our data is produced monthly. The figures below relate to operations. A single operation may entail investigations into multiple firms and individuals that are opened at different times.
For part A, the total number of criminal investigations first opened during this period was 12. Of those investigations:
- none were formally closed with enforcement or other regulatory action taken.
- 1 of these investigations was closed with no further action.
- 11 of these investigations remained open as at as of 28 February 2026
For part B, the total number of civil investigations first opened during this period was 3. Of those investigations:
- none were formally closed with enforcement or other regulatory action taken.
- 1 of these investigations was closed with no further action.
- 2 of these investigations remained open as at as of 28 February 2026
Additionally, the total number of dual track investigations first opened during this period was 22. Of those investigations:
- none were formally closed with enforcement or other regulatory action taken.
- 2 of these investigations was closed with no further action.
