Financial Crime Information Network (FIN-NET)

FIN‑NET connects organisations to protect the UK from financial crime.

FIN‑NET is a long-established collaboration between organisations involved in financial regulation, anti-money laundering supervision and the fight against financial crime affecting the UK.

Who we are

FIN-NET is based at the FCA but operationally independent. It brings together nearly 100 public sector and regulatory bodies with statutory or investigative roles, enabling them to share intelligence lawfully and effectively.

Established in 1992, FIN‑NET was set up to help regulators, law enforcement, and supervisory bodies share and deconflict information efficiently and identify new investigative leads.

What we do

FIN-NET helps its members securely share intelligence and information on:

  • financial crime
  • serious and organised criminal activity
  • terrorism
  • corruption
  • serious regulatory breaches

Our membership

FIN‑NET membership spans a broad set of organisations, including:

  • UK and overseas financial services regulators
  • professional body supervisors (accountancy and legal sectors)
  • law-enforcement bodies
  • public bodies with investigative, supervisory, or regulatory functions
  • insurance, trading and exchange-related bodies

All members must meet defined membership criteria, including having appropriate legal gateways for information sharing, secure communication capability, a statutory or investigative role relating to financial crime, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and information security.

How FIN-NET adds value

FIN-NET provides a trusted and operationally independent way for members to rapidly share intelligence that may be critical to progressing cases focused on financial regulation and economic crime.
