We seek to focus on areas with risk of significant harm to consumers, or with the most significant implications for consumers.
For 2023-24 this has included the cost-of-living crisis, the implementation, supervision and enforcement of the new Consumer Duty and the future development of the regulatory framework as well as a wide range of sector-specific issues.
A monthly report of the Panel's work and concerns is provided for the FCA Board. The Panel publishes responses to consultations and research on its website. The Panel also commissions its own independent research as appropriate.
A summary of our work and opinions is provided in our annual report which is usually published in June or July.
There is also ongoing liaison with members of the financial services industry, government bodies, other consumer bodies and other relevant organisations.
