The FCA’s approach to advancing its objectives

This guidance sets out what firms and consumers can expect from the FCA and how we intend to deliver our statutory responsibilities. It is based around our three operational objectives of protecting consumers, ensuring market integrity, and promoting effective competition.

We published the earlier version of this guidance in July 2013 and received feedback to this. Our updated guidance takes into account the feedback we received and other developments since we published the original version of the guidance.
