Information on transaction reporting - December 2021

Between 1 January 2021 and 3 November 2021, 700 firms requested at least one transaction reporting data extract from the FCA’s MDP Entity Portal, in accordance with the requirements of RTS 22 Article 15(3) as onshored

Between 1 January 2021 and 3 November 2021, 1,397 firms were identified as the executing entity in a transaction report. This does not include transaction reports submitted by trading venues under Article 26(5) of UK MiFIR on behalf of firms that are not subject to transaction reporting requirements.

The numbers in the table below represent firms which have applied directly to the FCA to be authorised as a branch who are incorporated in other jurisdictions. It does not include firms which Passported into the UK while the UK was a member of the EU and EEA, firms incorporated in the EEA were able to Passport into the UK as either a ‘Branch’ or a ‘Service.’ This is because, for such firms, the NCA in their Home States would have been the NCA responsible for authorising them.

Between 1 January 2021 and 3 November 2021, 350 firms submitted a transaction reporting errors and omissions notification to the FCA, in accordance with the requirements of RTS 22 Article 15(2) as onshored.

Between 1 January 2021 and 3 November 2021, the FCA’s Markets Reporting Team held visits, meetings or conference calls with 31 firms for the specific purpose of discussing transaction reporting under UK MiFIR.
