FCA response:
The ESG Sourcebook came into effect from 1 January this year and requires the firms in scope (per ESG 1.2.1R and ESG 1.2.2R) to make the relevant climate-related disclosures (per ESG 2) in accordance with the timeframes set out in ESG 2.1.1R and ESG 2.1.2R.
As these rules took effect only from 1 January 2022, the firms in scope have not yet reached the point in time at which their disclosures would be due. As a result, no firms have yet been sanctioned for breaches of the rules in the ESG Sourcebook and there are no open investigations.
