FCA regulated Crypto companies - February 2022

I am looking for information on the number of crypto companies which are regulated by the FCA. This can include firms which primarily carry out activities related to crypto trading, digital asset custody or financial services for crypto holders as well as firms which offer clients exposure to digital assets.

Question 1) How many crypto firms applied to be registered by the FCA in 2021 and how many were approved?

Question 2) How many crypto firms does the FCA regulate in total at the current time

For question 1, 63 crypto firms applied in 2021 to be registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). A total number of 25 applicant crypto firms were approved in 2021.

For question 2, we can confirm that the FCA currently has 31 firms registered on the FCA Cryptoasset Register[1].
