In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021), how many firms requested a data extract from the regulator's Market Data Processor (MDP) system against which to check the accuracy of their reporting?
In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021) , how many unique LEIs, representing the EXECUTING ENTITY for a transaction report (RTS22), submitted transactions to the FCA?
In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021) , how many investment firms have reported errors in their transaction reporting?

FCA response:

1. In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021), how many firms requested a data extract from the regulator's Market Data Processor (MDP) system against which to check the accuracy of their reporting?

Between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021, 716 firms requested at least one transaction reporting data extract from the FCA’s MDP Entity Portal, in accordance with the requirements of RTS 22 Article 15(3) as onshored.

2. In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021) , how many unique LEIs, representing the EXECUTING ENTITY for a transaction report (RTS22), submitted transactions to the FCA?

Between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021, 1,399 firms were identified as the executing entity in a transaction report. This does not include transaction reports submitted by trading venues under Article 26(5) of UK MiFIR on behalf of firms that are not subject to transaction reporting requirements.

3. In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021) , how many investment firms have reported errors in their transaction reporting?

Between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021, 385 firms submitted a transaction reporting errors and omissions notification to the FCA, in accordance with the requirements of RTS 22 Article 15(2) as onshored.

4. In Year 2021 (1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021), how many firms has the UK regulator held visits, meetings or conference calls for the specific purpose of discussing the quality of their transaction reporting?

Between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021, the FCA’s Markets Reporting Team held visits, meetings or conference calls with 35 firms for the specific purpose of discussing transaction reporting under UK MiFIR.
