The Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) would like to draw the industry’s attention to the announcement by the Italian Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB) today which restricts transactions under Article 20 (2) (b) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012. This applies to transactions in the following shares as well as to all related instruments relevant for the calculation of the net short position. Please be aware that ESMA has advised the FCA that this measure applies to all UK persons and relevant trading on UK venues.

This measure is effective from immediately until the end of trading on the 10 November 2014.

This measure replaces the temporary prohibition in short selling made on the 27 October 2014 under Articles 23 (1) and 26 (4) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012. This measure is now not in force. The original RNS can be found here[2].
