Payment Systems Regulator

The Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) is a new independent economic regulator for the £75 trillion payment systems industry.

The PSR’s website can be found here:

Payment systems form a vital part of the UK’s financial system – they underpin the services that enable funds to be transferred between people and institutions. They enable you to pay a deposit on a house, withdraw money from a cash machine, pay by direct debit, receive your salary directly into your bank account and transfer money via your smartphone.

The PSR is a subsidiary of the FCA but has its own statutory objectives, Managing Director and Board.
