Fraudsters may be targeting former clients of Synergy Wealth and Westbury Private Clients

Fraudsters may be contacting former clients of the Wales-based financial advisory firm Synergy Wealth Ltd (Synergy) and London-based investment management firm Westbury Private Clients LLP (Westbury).

We believe fraudsters may be offering to review individuals’ pensions and arrange a pension transfer for an inappropriately high fee.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) believes a third party has provided contact details to companies believed to be linked to Recovery Rooms.

These are fraudsters who approach investors who have been scammed or had failed investments, offering to help them get their money back for an upfront fee.

What should you do?

If you get a cold call from someone about your pension, the safest thing to do is to hang up – it’s illegal and probably a scam. Report pension cold calls to the Information Commissioner’s Office

Contact our Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768 to check if they are a recognised regulated entity.

Any information you give us about the call (including the phone numbers the callers used) could help us. See our contact us page for up-to-date contact details, and how to contact us by email or through a contact form on our website.

Alternatively, you can check the firm’s details, such as their telephone number, on our Financial Services Register.

If you think you may have been scammed, please contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
